To prevent the distribute of emerald ash borer and various invasive insects and illnesses shifting in firewood, the DNR created a permanent rule which prohibits site visitors from bringing firewood into Wisconsin state parks together with other state-managed lands from places further than 10 miles away from the property (effective June one, 2014).
